Car history:
VERY SHARP 1971 CORVETTE STINGRAY COUPE IN MILLE MIGLIA RED THAT IS TURN-KEY AND READY TO DRIVE ANYWHERE. NICELY KEPT AND SERVICED CRUISER. STRONG 350CI MOTOR AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION.
Vehicle has been in NY for the last few years. Owned by private collector for the last 14 years and always garaged. OPTIONS include POWER STEERING, POWER DISC BRAKES, T-TOPS, POP-OUT rear window and ALUMINUM WHEELS. The car has never been driven in the winter, and always kept under a cover inside the owner's garage. MECHANICALLY the car runs GREAT. Starts right up at the turn of the key and idles beautifully. The motor under the hood is a later model 350ci block with center hole heads (I was told from a 1996 car), with Turbo Hydramatic 3 speed transmission. Motor is mostly stock with the exception of an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold and Edelbrock carburetor that works great and is well adjusted, and a Flex fan to keep things a little cooler. There's also an electric fuel pump. Brakes work well although pedal feels a little spongy. Steering response is excellent and the car is overall a lot of fun to drive. INTERIOR is in GOOD condition throughout. General wear and tear as you would expect from a driver. Seats show well with perhaps a couple of tiny seam splits. Carpet, dash pad, door panels and t-top inner panels all look fairly decent, although not new. Door panels have armrest repair panels attached on them. This being a 35+ year old car, it is NOT perfect by any means. Here's a list of small issues i've found. Not working: wipers, horn, clock and temp gauges, e-brake (needs new cable). Fan shroud cracked. T-top inner panels need to by dyed black. It looks like the car may have had sidepipes at one time as side frame sections under the doors have small 1" metal brackets welded to them, otherwise frame appears to be in good shape throughout. Body has some stress cracks by the front wheel well arches, and one fiberglass crack a few inches long to the right of the passenger side headlight (some idiot may have sat on the car abruptly). Paint has a few chips/scratches/small dings as you would expect (I would estimate it to be about 20 years old), but still shows well and cleans up with fairly good original shine. Chrome is pitted throughout, presentable for a driver but should be redone to be really nice. That's about all I was able to find from my initial inspection, but I'm sure i'm missing a few small things. 125,807 miles. March 28, 2008.
