Car history:
1968 Corvette Roadster, This car is an all original Corvette that has been stored since the early 1980's. It is super low mileage (75,123) and unrestored all original car. I have both top, convertible and hard top. I bought this rare Corvette from a gentleman that has owned it since September 1972, I have the paperwork to prove it!! This car stil has the original Bronze Color paint on it even though it is faded, as the factory put a metallic laquer on it new. The paint has no shine at all. Rare options include automatic transmission (Code M40 Turbo 400, 5,063 units) , air conditioning (Code C60, 5664 units) convertible top with hardtop (Code CO7, 8735 units), and power windows (Code A31, 8735 units). This car features a 327 with 300 HP (Engine Code VT205HO) and intake (3919803), Exhaust (3872765) (3872778) L&R. You will see the trim tag that displays the interior as Std and paint as code 992 (Bronze). This car is 98% complete and you will not be looking for parts, IT'S ALL HERE! I have the original Chassis Overhaul Manuals (Book I and II). They are pretty dry, but certainly readable. Out of 28,566 Corvettes built in '68. only 18630 were convertibles and less than 4% were Bronze and Convertibles. This is a highly optioned car for 1968!!!! I have a clear title in my name and a color copy of the title from 1972. The car was pulled from storage and due to a storm a small amount of damage was done. Notice that the fiberglass has a break near the reat left bumper and it cracked the rear spoiler area. This occurred before I brought it home. The exterior is still painted Bronze but is very faded and dull. THIS IS NOT PRIMER!! Chrome is straight and in good condition, but needs rechromed to be a show car. Original Wheels 15X7 1968 Corvette Wheels- I have all 5 of them with bias ply tires on them. Doors jambs and rear convertible hatch are still Bronze and shiney. Body is straight with only minor repairs needed. Drivers fender stress crack and rear spoiler area as noted earlier. I have another small block hood for it if you want it, it may be a little better than this one. The convertible top frame is great, but needs new vinyl. The painted hard top is in good shape but need repainted with the rest of the car. The back window is in excellent condition. Interior is black and in fairly good condition for the year. The dash and door panels are great. The drivers seat is split from age and the carpet should be replaced. Windshield was broken, but all other glass is perfect. Windshield frame and radiator support is in good condition. These are usually bad in C3 Vettes, but this one has good parts. All dash componenets are there, even the original radio and console controls. A 1968 WITH A/C IS HARD TO GET CONSOLE PARTS FOR. THIS ONE HAS THEM ALL. I need to tell you the frame is bad enough. The "kick-up area behind the drivers seat area is rusted through. The good news is that I bought a replacement frame that has been sandblasted and and painted that is ready to install. I will include photos. I have all parts in a couple of boxes. I have nearly everything for the car. Colors from the trim plate. 75,123 miles. September 4, 2008.
