This two-owner car (same owner since 1978, original Protect-O-Plate included) underwent a frame-on restoration in 2004 that has resulted in a Corvette with exceptional looks and marvelous performance. The car retains its original drivetrain, including the 365HP big-block and Muncie M21 transmission. The motor was rebuilt to better than factory specs with an aftermarket intake, carb, and valve covers (all original pieces are available) along with headers. It has excellent power with a fantastic big-block sound, yet it starts and idles perfectly and will run all day long without overheating. The clutch is gentle and won't punish your left leg, while the transmission shifts smoothly without any grinding or clunking. The exterior of this Corvette is outstanding! The body is perfect and accident free, and has a flawless green metallic rainbow flake paint. When the sun hits the car the rainbow flake has a brilliant multi-color sparkle. This must be seen in person, as it cannot be captured by a camera. In addition to the high quality paint, the hood was replaced with a long L88 style piece that eliminates the wiper door (the original hood and wiper door are available). Another modification is the custom one-piece black fabric top that attaches with a factory style mechanism. It gives the car a unique look and is easier to remove and store than the factory t-tops. The original pieces will still pop right in and are available. The car also has original style 15x8" rally wheels with new tires. The interior of the car is highlighted by the beautiful two-tone seat covers. They are done in black and green and include the Corvette insignia. The seats are very comfortable thanks to new foam and real lumbar support. Speaking of comfortable, the car retains its factory air-conditioning which is fully functional with drop-in refrigerant! The interior also received new carpeting and seat belts, along with an aftermarket stereo. The gauges and indicators work except for the clock and dome light, and the fiber optics are partially functional. This Corvette is in remarkable overall shape. It will stand out at any car show, yet is perfectly reliable and a joy to drive. Act now before the prices of big-block Corvettes skyrocket once more!
