Car history: |
For auction is a third generation 1968 Corvette Stingray 427, this C3 coupe features the first use of T-top removable roof panels. This Corvette is not completely stocked but could easily be restored to its original factory configuration. Under the hood features a V8 427 cubic inch engine, putting out a nice 435 Horsepower (According to the information plate in the car) to the rear wheel drive, featuring custom drag tires. This two door coupe features a manual four speed transmission, in great condition, and shifts easily into all gears. I have a Clean Nevada Title, and the cars registration is close to expire. This car has had a lot of work put into it, and features a good amount of customization. I do have a lot receipts for parts and can provide you the mechanics contact information upon purchase. This power house starts up easily, runs great, and handles real good. This is a real nice ride for being 44 years old and having 61,620 miles on the chassis. I know for sure the engine has been replaced, I was told it was replaced under manufactures warranty years back. The engine numbers dont match the chassis. The transmission is original with no known modifications. This car has a ton of potential and could be placed back to stock. There is normal wear and tear but nothing too hard to fix or replace. We have had this car for about three years and havent had the time to fix or replace everything needed to be done. I would rate this car a 3 out 5 for overall condition. This one does have a custom pearl white paint job that does have scratches and various chips in it, it is best to view the photos to get a better idea. The front tires are new and the rear tires are showing weather cracks. The weather stripping is old and frail, most likely will need to be replaced. The driver side door panel is loose and could be replaced or fixed. The interior is real good, but the driver seat has a tear on the side. The leather has moderate wear but still looks decent. The shift boot is rubber and has tears in it. Passenger seat does have a few small tears in the seat. The wiper button is missing, and also there are no wipers. The RPM gauge needle is broken off and will need to be fixed. There are cracks in the plastic of the center dash, a hair crack in the steering wheel and a crack on the horn button. The hood vent is a little loose but locks tight, the front chrome windshield trim is a little loose and the front black headlight covers are loose. The driver side headlight cover does have a different white tint to it. The front bottom scope does have a crack in it and numerous scuffs and scratches. The alternator doesnt line up good, because the aftermarket bracket is not the proper one. Furthermore, there are no power brakes but the car does stop fine and no power steering. Here is a list of the modifications that are known to have been done: Replaced headers (The current ones are a late 60s 396-427 lower performance), New Carburetor (2011, 800 CFM Edelbrock), distributor, replaced spark plug cables, replaced spark plugs, custom pearl white paint (not sure on year done), new front tires, oversized drag rear tires, winged fenders, exhaust not original, aluminum rims, all fluids changed recently, new 800amp battery (bought Jan. 2012), new fuel pump and filter, and chrome air cleaner housing. 61,620 miles. 427/390 or 400 from the tach. January 19, 2012. |
